A sustainable colour spectacle at the Bergisel Ski Jump

Bergisel

Aesthetics and functionality combined

In line with the fluorescent lamp ban that will come into force in 2023, the lighting system at the Bergisel Ski Jump was converted to modern, sustainable LEDs. As Zumtobel had provided the original lighting solution in 2002, MK Illumination counted on Zumtobel once again for the lighting refurbishment.

A sustainable light show as night falls

79 controllable, colour-changing AMPHIBIA RGBW L LED moisture-proof luminaires with protection class IP66 replaced the worn-out RGB fluorescent tubes.

The lighting along the ski jump goes through all the colours of the rainbow every 10 minutes. The LITECOM infinity controls allow any number of colour combinations to be programmed to represent different flags, providing an impressive backdrop for the national teams during competitions.

‘When modernising, it’s important to us that our customers are always a step ahead of the regulations.’

Christian Klotz, Project Manager at Zumtobel

Spectacular light protects the environment

The energy-efficient luminaires save an incredible 50 per cent energy compared with the previous lighting system. As a result, the new lighting system meets regional sustainability goals and presents the architectural masterpiece in a sustainable light.
