Ban on light bulbs by 2023

Retrofitting solutions

Don't waste time!

‘Phase-out’ is the keyword here; existing stocks can still be used up. The ban offers operators of outdated systems the opportunity to improve light quality for people’s living and work spaces. Retrofitting also increases sustainability.

Many conventional light sources are no longer allowed to be put into circulation due to their high power consumption, as stipulated by EU Regulation 2019/2020/EU. Thin T5 lamps (approx. 16 mm in diameter) that are used in many different light systems will also be discontinued next year. It was only around 15 years ago that they started to slowly be replaced in the general lighting mass market by more efficient LED solutions.

Lamp ban as an opportunity for improved lighting quality

Normative lighting requirements have changed in many work areas since the old systems were installed. A new solution takes into account the safety and health of employees.

The phasing out of outdated lamps now offers you the chance to adapt your lighting solution to new working and usage conditions.

More on Active Light

Sustainability through new technology

In comparison with conventional light sources, LED technology offers many advantages. Not only is power consumption reduced, but combined with a control system, up to 70 % of energy costs can be saved.

With an emission reduction of CO2 through the lower power consumption, we support your goals for a climate-neutral company and access to funding programmes.

A change is always worth it!

Not only the reduced energy costs have a positive effect on your cost optimisation. With our long-life, efficient and innovative luminaires, you also reduce maintenance costs.

Our comprehensive range of services offers you everything from a single source. From financing to commissioning and maintenance. This gives you full cost security with excellent service quality.

Our solution for lighting controls in retrofits: basicDIM Wireless

If there is no DALI wiring available or if the integration of controls with cable connections poses a challenge during retrofitting, basicDIM Wireless is the solution. It consists of a wireless module, an app, elegant wall switches as additional manual control elements, and sensors.

This way, you avoid adjustments on the building - the installation effort is low and you can make the most of the advantages of LED lighting with light control.

We are here to support you!

1. Energy-efficient LED lighting

The combination of modern, dimmable LED luminaires and intelligent lighting controls reduces lighting power consumption by up to 80 per cent. A lower connected load reduces CO₂ emissions. Thanks to the greater performance of LEDs, the same or even better light output can be achieved with a smaller number of light points. This saves on additional materials, energy and CO₂ emissions. The electricity costs that are saved mean that the LaaS rates (almost) pay for themselves.

2. Circular lighting technology

Expertise with regards to materials and planning ensures that the existing lighting infrastructure can continue to be used in the best possible way. This keeps renovation and material costs and efforts to a minimum. Staying true to the principle of the circular economy, disused luminaires are appropriately dismantled and recycled according to WEEE guidelines. Where possible, materials are given a second life through re-manufacturing or high value recycling.

3. Funding and financing

During the initial lighting audit, we calculate exactly the amount of energy and CO₂ emissions that can be saved by modernising the lighting as part of LaaS. This calculation takes into account the electricity mix in the customer’s electricity tariff.

You receive all the energy figures in a form that is prepared in accordance with regulations and can use these figures for funding applications or for ESG reporting. If requested, we can provide details of certified energy consultants and can also advise on green building certification.
