Hilti has started a renovation project that affects all of its sites in Italy. As part of this major investment, Hilti is also focussing on areas for logistics, storage and production owned by the company, including the centre in Carpiano.

The changes in the logistics centres had to be approached in the right way, which meant a deliberate focus on lighting that accommodates the increasingly complex processes, visual tasks and the individual needs of the people working there.

The resilience of Zumtobel’s AMPHIBIA where it’s needed most

Zumtobel’s AMPHIBIA luminaires were chosen for the low ceilings in the warehouses in Carpiano. These luminaires have outstanding resistance to chemicals, high temperatures (-35°C to +50°C), dust and water. Their compact design and particularly impact-resistant materials provide the mechanical stability that’s needed in logistics environments.

The smooth surface is not even interrupted by any of the mounting elements. It is fully transparent and closes with InvisiClick, a new connection technology that remains invisible and replaces the need for brackets. This industrial system guarantees IP66 protection; the round edges and smooth surfaces are quick and easy to clean, even with high-pressure cleaners and abrasive cleaning agents if necessary. AMPHIBIA offers Hilti both durability and reliability, improving working conditions and optimising operability.

As well as providing Zumtobel’s best lighting concept, the project was also carried out on a turnkey basis: Zumtobel supplies luminaires as a single point of contact for Hilti and ensures correct installation with its partner.

For such large projects, this service means simple implementation, plannable costs and a point of contact for all requirements. For Hilti, this meant more control over the processes, allowing the work to be completed as quickly as possible.
